How to get more hotel reviews (without breaking the rules)

Review volume and recency both affect visibility. The properties with hundreds of reviews are not luckier; they simply ask, consistently, at the right moment.

Ask at checkout, in person

The moment of departure, after a good stay, is when a guest is most willing. A QR code at reception converts far better than an email sent three days later.

Make it one tap

Use the short Google review link. Every extra step loses a large share of people.

Reply to everything

Reply to positive reviews briefly and to negative ones with specifics about what changed. Future guests read the replies as closely as the reviews.

Never buy reviews

Platforms detect it, penalties are severe, and guests can usually tell. It is not worth the risk.
